Special Educational Needs Inclusion Funding (SENIF)
Inclusion Funding has changed!
Special Educational Needs Inclusion Fund (SENIF) Guidance and Information Pack was sent via email to all early years settings on Friday 12th September. Please email early.years@lewisham.gov.uk if you did not receive the email or wish to have it re-sent.
This pack outlines the purpose of SENIF, eligibility criteria, application process, and the types of support the funding can be used for. It also includes:
- A flowchart to guide decision-making
- Threshold of Need descriptors
- Application forms and a completed example
- Monitoring and review procedures
- Frequently asked questions and a glossary
The guidance is designed to support you in identifying and meeting the needs of children with SEND who require provision above what is ordinarily available. It also clarifies how SENIF aligns with the Early Years SEN Support Plan and the graduated approach.
Submit applications to:
inclusion.funding@lewisham.gov.uk
If you have any questions or would like support with the application process, please contact your linked Early Years Quality & Inclusion adviser or email tiffany.gordon@lewisham.gov.uk or denise.hayes@lewisham.gov.uk
Thank you for your continued commitment to inclusive practice and improving outcomes for our youngest children.
