Childminder Drop-in and Stay and Play Sessions
We have been visiting Childminder drop-in and stay and play sessions across Lewisham to share books that children love and talk to childminders about how they can be used to support children’s communication and language.
In this session we enjoyed “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt”

Some materials, similar to those in the story, were provided for children to explore….

- Grass cuttings from the garden- (Swishy, Swashy)! grass
- Cold water (Splash, Splosh!) river
- Compost (Squelch, Squerch!) mud
- Wood and twigs (Stumble, Trip!) Dark Forest
- Ice (Hoooo, Woooo!) Snow storm
- Half a flower pot covered in brown paper (Tip, Toe!) Dark gloomy cave
(Please ensure you carry out your own risk assessment when providing resources).

Childcare Development Officers, Loraine and Debbie will be contacting you soon to arrange a visit to your local group to share this experience.
We know there are lots of fantastic things going on in the childminder stay and play and drop-in sessions around the borough of Lewisham.
We would love to see your pictures and hear your stories!
Please contact Debbie and Loraine if you’d like to find out more about these sessions or you have some pictures or stories to share.
