Lewisham Safeguarding Children Practice Survey 2026

LCSP Rainbow LogoLewisham Safeguarding Children Practice Survey 2026 LINK

Local Safeguarding Children Partnerships have a Statutory Duty to assess whether agencies in their area are fulfilling their statutory obligation to safeguard and promote the welfare of children as described in Section 11 of the Children Act 2004: "Section 11 of the Children Act 2004 places duties on a range of organisations, agencies, and individuals to ensure their functions, and any services that they contract out to others, are discharged having regard to the need to safeguard and promote the welfare of children."

The Lewisham Safeguarding Children Partnership (LSCP) carries out this duty by way of conducting an annual safeguarding children practice survey.  We recognise that this is not just an annual event, but an on-going engagement process, alongside other joint working activities to engage directly with organisations and settings in order to gain a deeper understanding of the strengths and challenges experienced by organisations across the borough.

Every individual who works or interacts with children and young people on a regular basis in the borough of Lewisham is required to complete this survey as outlined in Working Together 2018 : Chapter 2.

The survey is designed to be quick and should take no more than 10 minutes to complete.  The Survey will close on Friday 27th February 2026.

The LSCP adheres to the principles of the General Data Protection Regulation and Data Protection Act 2018 in regards to any personal or sensitive information collected. The LSCP will use this data for the purpose of informing the Executive Leadership and Key Partner Leaders of the current safeguarding practice in our borough.  We will use this information to identify areas for improvement and develop an Action Plan with key leaders to address any themes that are evidenced.   Individuals will not be identified.

We recognise that some questions may not exactly fit your professional identity, however, please complete all questions to the best of your ability.  If necessary, please discuss your queries with your Designated Safeguarding Lead or Line Manager where appropriate.

Best wishes
