Early Years SENCO Briefing - Summer 2026

The session provides an overview of the current SEND reforms and what these mean for Early Years SENCOs working in PVI settings.

The presentation also introduces the funding streams available in Lewisham to support children with SEND, with a particular focus on:

• Developing and strengthening ordinarily available provision
• Understanding the graduated approach
• Accessing SEN Inclusion Funding (SENIF)
• The role of the Early Years SENCO in supporting inclusive practice

Throughout the session, the emphasis is on translating national developments into practical actions that can support your day-to-day work and help ensure children with SEND receive appropriate support as early as possible.
